Cheesy? Maybe. Amazing? Always. The classic tourist photo is a travel staple — they’re cliché for a reason. Having fun and making memories that last a lifetime is core to every EF Education First experience. And the best way to remember those experiences is through photos of the awesome places you go, the things you see, and the people you meet. Whether you hold up the Leaning Tower of Pisa or smooch the Great Sphinx of Giza, embrace your inner tourist and try out a few of these epic photos the next time you travel. Grab your EF backpack and read on.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa, located in Pisa, Italy, has long been a coveted tourist photo destination. The peculiar leaning tower invites visitors to pose in mind-bending situations, acting as a support to the building (or, in some cases, kicking it over).

While we wish we could put the Empire State Building in our pocket to bring home with us, it’s not physically possible. However, this classic photo will look great on the mantel as a memory from a fantastic trip, thanks to some photographic genius.

Are they 324 meters (1062 feet) tall, or is it just an optical illusion? Believe it or not, these humans are not giants as tall as the Eiffel Tower. Instead, they’re using angle and perspective for creative photos in the heart of Paris.
The reenactors

Want to reenact a famous statue or work of art with a group of friends? In museums and cities around the world, tourists have long recreated iconic scenes like this group of EFers mimicking the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, a statue in Lisbon, Portugal celebrating the Portuguese Age of Discovery.

Making something big look small, or better yet handheld, is always a good move when composing a classic tourist shot. For example, Christ the Redeemer, weighing 635 metric tons, is reduced to a handheld lollipop in this classic shot.
The eye of the beholder

These people don’t have a wingspan of 67.5 meters (2586 inches), but they are still hugging the London Eye. Seen from along the River Thames, the London Eye is a must-photograph tourist shot.
