Technology is revolutionizing how and where we learn – and our innovative teams are at the forefront of this movement. We’re developing digital applications to transform the classroom learning experience for students around the globe. And as a large company that needs to move fast, we rely on sophisticated technical support, back-office systems and infrastructure.
Build the future of learning
Classroom Technology Experience Team (CTX)
Our CTX team is creating multiple apps that allow teachers to distribute content to students' devices in real time – from practice activities to creative production tools. As we continue to build new apps, we're focusing on enhancing the user experience, improving analytics, adding more gamification and increasing individualised learning.
EF Standard English Test (EFSET)
We believe that test scores should be owned and managed by the learner, not the test maker. That's why we've developed the world's first free online standardised English test. In less than 50 minutes, users get a detailed analysis of their reading or listening skills. Results are calculated immediately and shared only with the user.EF SET.org
This collaborative team of designers, linguists, filmmakers, gaming experts and teachers is transforming learning as we know it. Our Labs, located in Shanghai, London and Boston, are at the forefront of technology, actively contributing to open source communities and creating ground-breaking work in speech recognition, virtual collaboration, and adaptive learning.
Supporting the Business
EF is constantly evaluating and adopting new technologies to give the business the best service possible. You'll always be learning about the latest infrastructure and software available and working with a forward thinking team to build intelligent solutions.
What EF people say
We're working on connecting digital tools with our classroom experiences. There's huge potential for innovation in educational software – but lots of tough challenges on the way to doing it right, especially when teaching languages.
Giles HammondSenior Developer, Global Creative Studio
EF saw the importance of search marketing several years ago, and I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time. When I started, the team consisted of just me and one other person. At this pace, we will soon be close to 40 people working with search.
Ku ChungVice President, EF Internet and Search Marketing
I come up with new ideas which help student to learn more effectively and efficiently. This isn't just dreaming about cool stuff that we could build! It's about spending a lot of time interviewing real students to understand their needs.
