The Role:
As the State Manager of Educational Partnerships, you are a driving force behind growing travel-based education programs in school districts across Texas. Your role is to leverage statewide partnerships, district level administrators, and other regional decision makers and influencers to create and grow travel programs in key districts. You will work closely with the Texas leadership team to align on priority districts and collaborate with regional territory managers to create deep, multi-year programs within communities.
In addition to targeting new districts and growing existing school-based business into broader district partnerships, you will work closely with state level administrator organizations and decision makers, to brand EF as THE preferred partner in education. Your day to day will include working in conjunction with state leaders on the growth strategy for Texas, leveraging partner organizations to help expand our brand and business presence, networking with educational influencers, and meeting with administrators and key contacts to create sustainable travel programming in their schools and districts. You will execute the sales cycle from lead generation through program development and hand off implementation to the territory manager. Internally, you will serve as an expert in the field and our “ear to the ground” on current conditions in the market, helping to inform business decisions and strategy for future sales growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a long-term sales strategy for district level business development in key regions in the state of Texas.
- Leverage EF partnerships to grow travel programs and market penetration, obtain referrals, cultivate promoter networks, and elevate brand awareness across the state.
- Work with Regional Sales Leaders, as well as Territory Managers, to identify target districts to acquire and grow travel programs, outline and overcome barriers to expand opportunities, and sustain successful partnerships.
- Nurture and drive loyalty among district leadership within new and existing customer bases to expand sales in key market segments (ex. CTE).
- Host community events and networking functions with strategic return on investment established.
- Create and connect with a community of educational leaders who are global thinkers in Texas to elevate customer voice, loyalty, and drive business.
- Own and leverage state-level administrator conferences and partner opportunities , including annual professional learning scholarships and professional development experiences.
- Daily and weekly database management of sales activity and forecasting of qualitative and quantitative impact
- Support strategic upskilling of territory managers and internal cross-team collaboration to implement learnings from our customer base.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Drive outsized state level business growth, measured in increased paying travelers
- Sustain measurable growth in existing districts and focus on accelerated conversion of new schools and strategic verticals throughout key regions in the state of Texas
- Nurture and grow new district programs, and expand our strong network of local stakeholders and partnerships.
- Facilitate strategic in-person events, such as partner events and conferences, professional learning opportunities and other strategic investments.

Role Requirements:
- Keen growth mindset, forever student mentality
- Must be based in the state of Texas (preference is Austin; Houston or Dallas/Fort Worth areas will be considered as well)
- Proven track record of success with more than 10+ years in sales, education, fundraising or other related field with a focus on strategy/enterprise sales mentality, building partnerships, new business development and/or educational leadership is preferred
- Experience working with district-level decision makers
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional nights/weekends
- Exceptional presentation and public speaking skills
- Immediate ability to execute a strategic plan with regular updates to leadership team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines
- 35%+ Domestic & International travel is required
- Must be able to drive and own a car
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
