Our Summer School offers Spanish Language Immersion courses to international travellers (aged 13-16) who want to spend two - three weeks in Málaga to improve their language skills and learn about Spanish culture through fun and immersive activities.

As an Activity Manager, you will lead the activities team. You will manage a team of activity leaders and oversee the planning and quality of both on and off-campus activities that our for our EF Language Abroad program students attend. You will engage with students daily on-campus, ensuring they receive the best customer service and support during their stay with us, while enjoying the best activities and events our campus location has to offer. The Activity Manager reports directly to the School Director.
The Role
As the Language Travel (LT) Activities Manager, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering the activities program from concept to implementation for the summer of 2026. You will oversee, manage, and coach a team of Activity and Course Leaders. You will also organize program logistics, such as bus transportation, event planning, and payments to suppliers. This high-energy role requires a strong leader and manager who can drive the program, ensuring that Activity Leaders have the necessary tools, training, and guidance to showcase the local area and provide life-changing experiences to students. This role is pivotal in ensuring that international students have a safe, immersive, and unforgettable summer experience.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee a variety of activities, social events, and full-day excursions included in the summer activity program for groups of 40 or more students.
- Manage all logistics for the activity program, including bus transportation, staff scheduling, and troubleshooting.
- Proactively identify hazards for all on-site and off-site activities, ensuring that safety protocols are in place.
- Manage, coach, and supervise a team of activity and course leaders.
- Lead a full-day activity leader training session before student arrival. • Deliver daily team meetings/briefings.
- Manage finances to ensure activities remain within budget.
- Manage the inventory of materials and supplies for activities.
- Manage relationships with local suppliers and partners, including submitting payments and processing invoices.
- Coordinate special school events for student arrivals and departures.
- Be available to work late nights and weekends for events such as arrivals, departures, excursions, and disco nights. Also be available to assist with emergency situations.
- Share emergency on-call duties with other school staff on a rotating basis.
Candidate Profile
- Management experience (one year or more preferred).
- Proficiency in Spanish (C1+) and English (B2), as well as travel experience, is required.
- Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- Knowledge of the Malaga local area is preferred.
- A "nothing is impossible" attitude and strong customer service focus.
- Experience working with young people and/or international students.
- Appreciation for cultural differences and the patience to communicate with students who have varying levels of Spanish proficiency.
- Flexibility to handle last-minute schedule changes or weather-related disruptions.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle emergencies or difficult situations quickly and professionally.
- Business-minded, with a strong sense of customer service and attention to detail.
- Enthusiastic and a natural leader with high energy and an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- User knowledge of photo and video editing required.
- User knowledge of social media
