Freelance Part time Tour Director (TD) and Student Support for EF

In Nice, EF Gap Year provides a Language Program for American students 18-22 years old.
 
The role 
We are currently hiring for a freelance/part-time Tour Directors in Nice to be the local support and point of contact for our students during their second Semester of the Gap Year program - from the 13th of February until the 29th of April 2025.
In close collaboration with your EF colleagues in Nice, Zurich, and Boston, this role is essential to ensure that students have a positive, enriching, and safe experience throughout their language program. You will play a key role in supporting and empowering participants to stay engaged and succeed. Your responsibilities will include leading student activities, guiding them to major city attractions, coordinating planned meals, and facilitating both orientation and wrap-up sessions.
Prior to the group's arrival on February 13th, we will conduct training sessions to ensure you are fully prepared for the role. The most intensive work will occur during the group's arrival and departure, with a lighter workload expected during the main period of their stay. A key aspect of your role involves overseeing emergency response protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of our participants. You will serve as one of the primary point of contact for students during emergencies.  
 
 
 
 
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to
  • Prepare for and welcome students on arrival. Assist in the design and implementation of orientation and wrap-up activities
  • Managing Program logistics and handling program administration & finances
  • Respond appropriately to any violations of the EF Gap Year’s Code of Conduct in collaboration with other EF staff members
  • Leading fun and experiential activities
  • Liaising with suppliers (Restaurants, Guides, Transport etc.)
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all our travelers
  • Facilitating the inclusion of every person on our tour 
  • Representing EF
 
Requirements:
  • Fluent in English, French & based in Nice
  • Experience leading, facilitating, and/or working with high school, gap year, or college students in a mentorship capacity
  • Flexibility to have hours that vary based on the needs of the students and program
  • Ability to demonstrate and further develop administrative skills, interpersonal communication, and cross-cultural awareness in an international context
  • Being service minded & a role model for young adults
  •  Stay calm under pressure and demonstrate strong initiative 
Good to have:
  • International travel experience
  • Knowledge of North American culture
  • Living close to Nice city center
