As a Director of Institutional Partnerships, you will play a critical role in developing new business and driving growth within a given region. This position is a senior sales role designed to represent, identify partnerships, and consult on a variety of programs on behalf of EF Study Abroad amongst colleges and universities within the United States. Having a deep understanding of the higher education field, and the ins and outs of each of your assigned institutional partners will be critical to success in this position. The Director of Institutional Partnerships will be involved in all aspects of the college or university partnership, from initial discovery, consultation, and program build, through departure and program return, working alongside a Partnerships Manager in their territory.
The role is based in EF’s Boston office, and requires an in-office presence with the team three days a week, with two days ability to work from home. If you are not located in Boston, please outline your plan to relocate in your cover letter.
What you will be responsible for:
- Demonstrate the ability to independently identify institutions that align with EF Study Abroad’ s priorities and objectives and effectively communicate the rationale for these partnerships to leadership.
- Possess the capability to differentiate between varying levels of partnership potential, ensuring a targeted approach to relationship-building.
- Efficiently self-source pipeline and build qualified prospects through your own strategic outreach.
- Use your track record of high sales performance in the higher ed space, or a similar B2B setting to problem solve and align partner needs with program offerings.
- Independently set and track personal and team goals, demonstrating strong motivation.
- Demonstrate an understanding and command of managing a sales process and sales pipeline.
- Build strong relationships with institutional partners, engaging multiple stakeholders, while establishing trust and loyalty.
- Effectively cross-consult on program offerings, independently creating and delivering customized presentations tailored to partner needs.
- Create strong relationships by effectively and efficiently collaborating with marketing, product, operations, and finance teams to enhance knowledge and drive business success.
- Proactively identify current or upcoming trends in the field and bring them back to the organization to impact decisions in a compelling way.

Qualifications:
- Preferably 5 years’ experience in a similar senior sales role, with consistent performance.
- Proven track record of high sales performance in the higher ed space or a similar B2B setting.
- Direct experience navigating complex, long-term contract B2B sales.
- Direct experience in understanding how to uncover organizational layers and determining key decision-makers.
- Experience in higher-ed preferred but not required.
