About the role: 
The Director of Digital will define and execute the vision, strategy and operational execution for both our eCommerce and paid media/acquisition functions to deliver best-in-class consumer experience.  S/he will translate data into actionable initiatives to grow the business and take a hands-on, proactive approach to deliver strategies to optimize acquisition, conversion, retention, and customer satisfaction.  The successful candidate is a strategic thinker and dynamic leader who is capable of driving growth, optimizing user experience and working cross-functionally to achieve business goals. 
You will… 
eCommerce Strategy & Execution
  • Define and execute the eCommerce vision, product direction and digital marketing strategy tailored to Gen Z and Gen A preferences and behaviors  
  • Orchestrate all aspects of a strategic eCommerce plan to drive revenue growth, improve customer experience and increase market share 
  • Combine existing expertise in sales, marketing, product, technology, and management to deliver a superior brand and shopping experience for all customers 
  • Manage the digital user experience, including site navigation, content development in conjunction with the Marketing team, checkout funnel and promotional campaigns 
  • Develop, own and maintain a comprehensive on-site and off-site merchandising plan in conjunction with Finance requirements 
  • Design, own and optimize the customer experience focusing on merchandising imperatives, personalization, and improving customer lifetime value 

 

Paid Media & Acquisition 
  • Develop and implement comprehensive, muti-channel paid media strategies to drive awareness, consideration and acquisition among Gen Z and Gen A customers
  • Manage and optimize omni-channel paid media campaigns, including search, display, social media
  • Identify opportunities to optimize campaigns based on trends, insights and performance
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales to ensure paid efforts align with brand marketing and overall business objectives

 

Reporting & Testing 
  • Develop, monitor and analyze comprehensive reporting, including key metrics such as traffic conversion, average order value and customer lifetime value to measure success, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to optimize performance 
  • Develop and execute a testing strategy for customer facing applications to improve the shopping and booking experience; define requirements, oversee test implementation, and analyze results 
  • Partner with the Product and Analytics teams to refine event tracking across our marketing systems to identify customer segmentation opportunities
  • Author and maintain requirements documentation that detail the business objectives, priority, scope, level of effort, timeline for execution and expected return for all web and mobile projects and enhancements
  • Monitor competitor activity to identify new opportunities for growth or threats to the business. 

 

Leadership 
  • Lead and mentor a team of eCommece and paid media professionals, inspiring a growth mindset and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous optimization 
  • Develop and monitor eCommerce and paid media KPIs; track progress towards team and company OKRs 
  • Lead the cross-departmental collaboration across Product, Marketing, Analytics, Technology, Sales, Operations and Customer Service to ensure alignment and integration of eCommerce and paid media strategies with broader business goals
  • Provide insights and partner with technology stakeholders to optimize UX/UI based on traffic, search, and sales data as well as customer research and surveys 
  • Establish and maintain best practices across eCommerce and paid media 

 

 
You have… 
  • 10+ years’ hands-on experience in direct B2C ecommerce/web marketing/paid media, preferably for Gen Z and Gen A customers
  • In-depth knowledge of online media acquisition, SEO, affiliate marketing, email and social media strategies
  • Prior experience with web content management systems (CMS) and personalization technology
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to translate data into actionable insights and/or utilize data to formulate new strategies; demonstrated proficiency in Google Analytics and Tableau  
  • Proven talent for making complex topics understandable and conveying business insights and opportunities to management and cross-departmental teams 
  • Outstanding organization skills and attention to detail with a track record of being hands on in the execution of strategy
  • The power to execute independently while successfully influencing others across the organization
  • Superior cross-departmental collaboration experience/skills and solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and assess priorities based on impact
