- Providing overall leadership and management of entire Academic Department by implementing the current EF curriculum, while also managing changes and improvement to our academic programs.
- Leading from the front – is passionate about teaching and ready to teach as and when required themselves.
- Working in collaboration with the Regional Academic management in implementing academic programs, overseeing logistical processes and operations, and keeping track of all digital records.
- Setting the direction of the Academic department – being responsible for academic planning and objective setting, ensuring those objectives are met, and supporting staff in meeting their own objectives.
- Meeting the needs and desires of students by providing outstanding customer service to the students, while also problem solving issues that will lead to higher student satisfaction.
- Working with the Academic team in developing new academic content for specialized classes and programs.
- Leading professional development sessions for the teacher team and developing team members into a future pipeline of management.
- Timetabling of students, teachers, courses, and classrooms to meet the needs and expectations of the school, the students, and achieve the course objectives.
- Corresponding with EF Sales Offices in over 50 countries globally.
- Ensuring that the academic team are compliant with all aspects of school accreditation and EF policies and procedures.
- Managing the academic budget for training and materials.
- Working with the School Director in achieving school goals, targets for KPIs, and student satisfaction rates.
- Responsible for quality assurance of all academic matters including recruitment, development, evaluation of effectiveness of curriculum on learner outcomes and overall student satisfaction.
- Master’s degree in English, Linguistics, Education or related field, or DELTA/Dip-TESOL certified
- Experience teaching English as a foreign language to international students is essential (as this is the core business of our school)
- Academic management experience preferred.
- 5 years’ experience teaching English at an international language school
- Attention to detail, organized & thorough and able to work under pressure to deadlines
- Highly motivated, energetic, positive
- A flexible approach to work & hours of work undertaken is essential
- Friendly & approachable manner is key as well as being sensitive cross cultural mindsets in order to meet the needs of international students
- Able to work on own initiative
- The right to work in New Zealand is required
