    Job: Business Development Manager

    Location: Boston or Fully Remote

     

    The Role:

    This individual will join an elevated sales cohort focused on acquiring new and competitive group leaders for our EF Educational Tours product portfolio. We’re looking for a sales-savvy rock-star who is ready to apply their sales skills and killer instinct to grow the number of schools and educators traveling with EF each year. The ideal candidate considers themselves a strategic “hunter” who derives motivation and fulfillment from finding and engaging with new and competitive customers. 

    In this role you will be responsible for promoting travel programs by educating potential customers on the value and benefits of traveling with EF. You will do this while providing top-notch customer service and support, through sales and in-person meetings in order to establish strong relationships with each customer. Ultimately, this role will help us remain the leader in the industry by securing market share from even more new and competitive customers.     Who you are:

    • Proven track record of sales success- particularly with new and competitive business
    • Entrepreneurial- you love finding creative solutions in order to win a customer over
    • Driven- you can think outside the box to tackle obstacles with a creative lens 
    • Strong communicator- you’re confident, persuasive, motivating and trustworthy
    • Thrive in ambiguity- you must be excited by pivoting quickly as we build our strategy
    • Fearless- you like trying new things and are always up for a challenge
    • 3+ years in a sales role

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Strategically identify market potential within an extremely qualified and competitive pipeline

    Create and implement strategy around new and competitive school acquisition to expand market share and promote brand awareness within a highly sought-after market

    • Exhibit a solid understanding of the market and industry competitors 
    • Communicate with customers over the phone, but as needed you will travel domestically for in person meetings and internationally on Travel Appreciation Symposiums 
    • Develop creatively tailored proposals and bids to meet the needs of each customer
    • Builds and nurtures client relationships by providing exceptional customer service and superior product consultation
    • Proactively manage a qualified pipeline while simultaneously closing sales and hitting or exceeding quotas

     

    Compensation: The compensation range for this role starts at $67,000 annually commensurate with experience plus $20,000 in bonus potential in the first year.  Bonus potential is uncapped.
