Bridget and Bridget: EF Friends Forever
During a weekend trip to Maine, Bridget S. got to chatting about her job at EF Education First with Maggie. Maggie had a sister—also named Bridget—who was looking for a job. Bridget S. knew that if Maggie’s sister was anything like Maggie, she belonged at EF. After returning home, Bridget S. made the referral, and now both Bridgets work for EF Explore America in EF’s Boston office. Here’s how their EF story came to be:
Q: How did you know Bridget was the right fit for EF?
A: My college professor once told me that you want to be the type of coworker that after a 40-hour work week, people still want to get a beer with you—that’s Bridget. She has a great attitude, lights up every room she walks in, and is absolutely hilarious. Within five minutes of meeting her you’d know why she’s perfect for EF.
Q: What’s your best EF memory with Bridget?
A: I’m lucky enough to be in the same product as Bridget. We went to Canada together for our team’s annual meeting and we had such an amazing time. Bridget won the award for “Glass Half-Full,” which she was nominated for by her peers. I felt like a proud mom! Getting to spend time with her and see how she’s blossomed in EF Explore America has been the best experience.
Q: What EF core value does Bridget display most?
A: Passion! She truly loves EF. She’s positive, energetic, loves what she does, and makes every day better just by being in it. Her teammates say she’s the most positive person they know and they’re happier when she’s around.
Q: How does Bridget make EF a better place to work?
A: Her absolutely contagious personality—she has a way of bringing everyone up even when they’re feeling down. She’s also one of the hardest workers I know. I wish I could clone Bridget and put one of her on every team!
Q: What’s your favorite thing about working at EF?
A: My favorite thing is people like Bridget. The work environment here is nothing like I’ve ever experienced. The people who work here are so much more than coworkers, they’re like family.
Q: What’s a key piece of advice you would give to a new EFer?
A: Embrace everything. Throw yourself out of your comfort zone and sign up for a fitness class, a mid-week mingle, or anything else EF has to offer. The network you make here won’t just be for the office but for a lifetime. Meet every person you can and enjoy every single day. Never forget to be grateful for each moment you have here.
